Funding Sources
DHHL’s broadband programs are funded by two federal TBCP grants from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration.
TBCP 1
Providing technology to community institutions and planning for infrastructure needs.
$17.28M
TBCP 2
Building infrastructure to connect households in rural communities and new developments to high-speed broadband—and providing digital skills and job training.
$72M
Better Internet Where It’s Most Needed
We use speed test data to help determine which communities have the greatest need for improved broadband infrastructure.
Red Areas (0 – 25 Mbps download speed)
Communities in red areas lack reliable broadband service; internet speeds are too slow to support many activities, including telehealth, education and work.
Yellow Areas (26 – 100 Mbps download speed)
Communities in yellow areas lack access to internet speeds that allow individuals to upload large files or participate in video conferencing.
Green Areas (100+ Mbps download speed)
Communities in green areas have reliable broadband access, with speeds that enable them to engage in most important online activities.
